Swiss Experiment considers all data entered into the system to be the property of the person who collected or payed for that data (depending on the individual arrangement). Swiss Experiment is a provider of the data system and makes no claim to the data within it.

Swiss Experiment encourages, where possible, that data should be made openly available and leads by example by making the data collected under its mandate, publicly accessible as soon as possible.

Swiss Experiment expects that users should make all metadata publicly open for data discovery purposes, though does not enforce this.

Swiss Experiment does however, provide the tools for protecting the data and whether data is protected or unprotected, will not make use of the data without the express permission of the data owner.
