Tasks and priorities.

  • Expose web interface for access control (priority 4)
  • Integration with wiki (maintained in rdf)
    • Name mapping (liqian) (priority 1)
      • (1) Load the mapping of sensor names into senseweb or (2) query the wiki system for the sensor names or (3) change the sensor type names in senseweb database (priority 1)
      • Display real names instead of column names. e.g., use "relative humidity" rather than "rh"
  • Metadata provenance
    • Given sensor name and time window, display all the related wiki data (ashwin and liqian) (priority 1)
      • Dynamic metadata within t1 to t2 should be displayed next to the individual time series plots. (priority 1)
      • Option 1: All dynamic metadata, Static metadata about the sensor and its station can be shown if a user clicks "more".
      • Option 2: go to the wiki if a user clicks "more". e.g., http://www.swiss-experiment.ch/index.php/Wannengrat:Wan4 (priority 1)
    • Data accuracy: percentage or absolute, per sensor type or per sensor or per value, data come from wiki or senseweb (priority 5)
      • Solution 1: show in the description panel of a sensor (priority 1)
      • Solution 2: show error bars in the plots (preferred) (priority 5)
  • Embeddable sensormap containing only sensors on top of maps. Once clicked, go to the real sensormap (priority 5)
  • Queries based on data values: (priority 4)
    • Use a user interface similar to GSN
    • e.g., show only sensors containing temperature readings between 20F and 30F for time t1 to t2. For sensors satisfy the conditions, plotting all data.
  • New visualization methods:
    • Simple ones:
      • represent values by dot sizes (priority 3)
      • represent values by heights of bars (priority 4)
      • represent vector values by arrows (priority 4)
    • Complex ones:
      • Visualization of interpolated values, Vector map (priority 4)
      • Overlays of different visualizations (priority 5)
  • Data download
    • Download raw data (priority 3)
  • Data access control
    • Publish stations but not data for protected sensors (priority 2)
    • Different resolutions for authorized users and unauthorized users (priority 5)
  • Overlay of user-supplied graphs
    • Non-map-related graphs (priority 5)
      • GSN support (Ali) (priority 5)
      • Register graph sensors (priority 5)
      • Given a time, GSN returns a graph (in the form of URL) with a timestamp closest to the time point (priority 5)
    • Graphs to be overlaid on map (priority 5)
  • Contour map
  • Maps
    • Get maps and create tiles using mapcruncher and share them on a server (Sebastian or Nick) (priority 1)
    • Integrate the maps into sensormap (Liqian) (priority 1)
  • External deployment of sensormap
