List of things to discuss at Microsoft
- Map interface:
- Acquisition of new maps - also talk with virtual earth team on where they got to and what the issues/possibilities are
- Small high resolution maps hosted by SLF?
- Large high resolution maps from map.search.ch, replaced by low res when in 3D mode?
- Limitation to Swiss IPs?
- Metadata provenance:
- What metadata is displayed when/where
- How the user experience can be enriched (/ruined) with metadata
- Use of the measurement types instead of the database names
- Addition of error bars?
- Wider querying:
- Give me all of the temperature measurements at altitudes between 2000 and 2500m on 23rd July
- Show me all of the positions at which there was >2cm precipitation on 25th July
- Give me a daily average temperature map of switzerland
- Data export
- Temporal interpolation…..how do you do a spatial interpolation if your stations are measuring at widely different times?
- Dealing with views...how can you quickly include groups of stations e.g. 200 IMIS stations + Wannengrat + Wiler. This might be required e.g. to do a spatial interpolation.
