Introduction to the Fieldsite

The La Fouly fieldsite is a rare catchment in the alps which remains unaffected by human influence. The catchment is 4km long and has a small glacier at the top end. SensorScope stations have been used to intensively monitor the meteorological parameters over large altitudinal gradients both on the glacier and at the lower end of the valley. Real time flow measurements are made at the exit of the river from the catchment and these are regularly calibrated using manual measurements.
